Inspirational Backdrops at Christianson’s Nursery

Finding the right location is an essential part of capturing a well-planned styled shoot. With so much effort invested in marketing your personal brand or collaborating with other creatives, the quiet beauty that supports your vision can be found at Christianson’s Nursery! It is a favorite site for both budding and professional photographers and well-known in Skagit Valley for its gorgeous backdrop of restored glass greenhouses and its English display garden filled with blooming roses and perennial borders. The Propagation Greenhouse

The Propagation House was originally used to propagate rhododendrons from cuttings but is now used to grow geraniums in the early spring and summer. Fall and winter it is filled with tropical plants including many varieties of citrus with Meyer’s lemon trees being the most popular.

The Schoolhouse & Rose Garden

Originally built in 1888 on the Lee Farm, the Meadow School (from District Number 3) is the oldest remaining one-room schoolhouse in Northwest Washington and remains largely unchanged. Today, it is where we host some of the most beautiful and intimate weddings, photo and styled shoots, and special occasion events in Skagit Valley along with gardening classes and seasonal Nursery events. The Schoolhouse Garden was designed by Toni and John Christianson. It was planted in harmonious color groupings that were designed after the Schoolhouse was set into place. This unique location visually inspires all who enter!

The Vinery

Our newest location, The Vinery is available for weddings and other celebrations and we are offering it on a complimentary basis for garden club and agricultural conferences and gatherings. Independent rates apply to this location.

Photoshoot Hourly Rental

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday: $100.00/hour

Friday: $125.00/hour

Saturday or Sunday: $150.00/hour

How To Arrange Photo Sessions at Christianson’s Nursery

We encourage all photographers to take images of the many inspiring scenes they discover at the Nursery. Before making arrangements, please contact us by phone at 360-466-3821 and ask to speak with Emma to confirm we have no other events happening at your preferred date and time. Mobile Photography & Videography

Mobile photography and videography is classified as a single person or single family photo session that lasts about an hour in length uses several areas of the Nursery during the visit and is not burdened with props or tabletop displays. We ask that photographers please call us before making arrangements to take images to ensure our event schedule is open. We also request photographers or videographers to cite or tag the Nursery’s name (#ChristiansonsNursery) when using images for marketing purposes.

Photo or Styled Shoots

Photo, Video, or Styled Shoots that have greater needs and require more time in one single location of the Nursery typically enter into a paid contract. Multiple models, coordination of vendors or props, consecutive hours, and multi-family sessions are indicators that a photographer may require a contractual agreement. Contracts include a refundable deposit and are charged an hourly rate (listed below).
