A: Dear Karen,
In answering your question, it requires a more detailed response since it is a complicated answer.
Our approach to dealing with pests is multilevel. We don’t use neonics due to their harmful aspects, but we do exercise a pest management program that includes pesticides (infestation control), insecticidal soap (aphid control), neem oil (organic control for scale) and beneficial bugs in our greenhouses to replace specific broad-sweeping pesticides. We are conscientious of using benign or organic controls whenever possible.

Plants without pest and disease control would be unhealthy and look terrible and no one buys diseased plants.
We also host RentMasonBees.com several times a year to promote pollination by using solitary bees, such as mason and leafcutter bees. We will also continue to purchase plants from local buyers who also understand the effects neonicotinoids to have on bees and other pollinators.
